I remember how surreal it was when everything was cancelled in 2020 and 2021. The streets were so quiet, and the usual water fights and parties were gone. It was sad to see places like Khao San Road and Chiang Mai empty, and people just staying at home. 😔
But it was also a time when Thai people found new ways to celebrate, like virtually splashing water on each other or focusing on the more traditional aspects of the holiday, like paying respects to elders. It really showed the resilience of the culture.
Hopefully, we can all enjoy many more happy and wet Songkrans in the future! 🙏💦
