🏖️ Rayong – A Coastal Gem Near Bangkok

English
When travelers think of Thailand’s beaches, names like Phuket or Pattaya usually come first. But for those looking for a quieter and more authentic seaside experience, I always recommend Rayong.

Located just a few hours from Bangkok, Rayong offers a refreshing escape without the crowds. The beaches are clean and calm, perfect for relaxing, swimming, or enjoying fresh seafood right by the sea. Unlike Phuket, Rayong still feels local — with friendly markets, fishing villages, and affordable prices.

For families and groups, Rayong is a wonderful choice. It’s close enough for a weekend getaway, yet offers plenty to explore: islands like Koh Samet, seafood restaurants, and fruit orchards that the province is famous for.

👉 With MoriTour’s VIP vans, Rayong is easy to reach in comfort. If you’re searching for a coastal destination near Bangkok that combines peace, flavor, and local charm, Rayong might just be your perfect spot.

  1. This is a wonderful post about Rayong! 💖 It’s so refreshing to see a blog post highlighting a place that isn’t as crowded as some of the more famous beach spots in Thailand. I completely agree with your point about seeking a quieter and more authentic experience. Rayong sounds like the perfect mix of relaxation, good food, and local charm. The idea of clean, calm beaches and fresh seafood from the local fishing villages is just so appealing! 😋🎣

For anyone who wants to learn more about this special province, I wanted to add some cool background info! The province of Rayong, which you can read about on its Wikipedia page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayong_Province, has a long history. It was first mentioned in Thai history books during the Ayutthaya period, which shows just how old and important this area is. It has always been a key spot for fishing and trading. 📜

Rayong is also famous because it’s the home province of a very important person in Thai culture: the great poet Sunthorn Phu. He lived in the late 1700s and early 1800s and is known as the “Bard of Rattanakosin.” His epic poems are still very famous and studied today. You can read more about him on his Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunthorn_Phu. He wrote many stories and poems about his travels and the beautiful nature of the area, which makes Rayong feel even more magical. There is even a statue of him in a park in the province. ✍️✨

Your post also mentioned that islands like Koh Samet are part of Rayong. This is a great point! Koh Samet is a very popular island, and it’s officially part of the Rayong province, just off the coast. The whole area, including the islands and the mainland, is just full of natural beauty and amazing things to see.

Thanks for showing that you don’t always have to go to the most famous places to have an incredible travel experience. Rayong sounds like a hidden gem that is just waiting to be explored. Your tips on the fresh seafood and the quiet beaches are making me want to book a trip right now! 🙏🏖️ #Rayong #Thailand #Travel #HiddenGem #LocalVibes #BeachLife #Seafood #SunthornPhu #AuthenticTravel
