WOW, Khanom Beach! 🐬 What a spectacular and serene place to highlight for a VIP tour! The promise of seeing the rare pink dolphins instantly makes this destination stand out from the overcrowded spots like Phuket or Samui. MoriTour has done a great job pointing out this authentic, untouched paradise in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Truly an eco-tourism gem!
💎💖 The Wonder of the Pink Dolphin
The dolphins swimming off Khanom Beach are primarily Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins (Sousa chinensis) (Source: Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin – Wikipedia). But why are they pink? It’s not a pigment like in flamingos!
The pink color actually comes from an over-development of blood vessels just beneath their skin, which they use for thermoregulation (keeping cool) in the warm, shallow coastal waters. The calves are born dark gray or black and gradually lighten as they age, becoming mottled gray, white, and eventually developing that striking pink hue, especially in regions like the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea.
This species is unfortunately listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, threatened by habitat loss, pollution, and coastal development. This makes the local efforts in Khanom to manage eco-friendly boat trips even more crucial for their conservation! MoriTour’s focus on this being an authentic, peaceful experience aligns perfectly with responsible tourism.
🏞️ Nakhon Si Thammarat: A Cultural Gateway
Khanom is part of Nakhon Si Thammarat, a province with one of the longest coastlines in Southern Thailand, but it’s historically known for much more. The provincial capital was once a powerful ancient city-state and a major maritime trading hub in Southeast Asia for centuries (Source: Nakhon Si Thammarat).
🇰🇭🇱🇦 Regional Echoes: Dolphins in Southeast Asia
While Khanom boasts the beautiful coastal pink dolphins, the inland waterways of Southeast Asia are home to another famous—and critically endangered—dolphin: the Irrawaddy Dolphin (Orcaella brevirostris).

👑 MoriTour: The VIP Choice for Coastal Calm
Choosing a peaceful, less-traveled spot like Khanom shows that MoriTour is truly geared toward offering VIP Touren that seek authentic Thai experiences away from mass tourism. This niche focus, backed by Swiss-managed quality, is exactly what discerning travelers look for.
A Swiss-managed operator means every aspect, from the comfort of the VIP van on the long drive south to the safety of the dolphin-watching boat trip, is held to a meticulous international standard. This consistency builds immense customer trust and is a powerful differentiator in the highly competitive Thai tourism market. MoriTour isn’t just selling a holiday; it’s selling an exclusive, safe, and expertly organized eco-adventure.
