π Before the Engine Starts: What We Check Before Every Trip
Most people think a journey begins when the engine starts.
For us, it begins long before the wheels move.
Every trip with MoriTour Thailand follows the same principle:
Safety is not something you react to β itβs something you prepare for.
Preparing the Vehicle
Before any passenger steps inside, the vehicle is checked.
This includes tires, lights, air conditioning, cleanliness, and the overall condition of the van. A clean and well-maintained vehicle is not about comfort alone β it is part of responsible transport.
Preparing the Passengers
Once everyone is on board, we take a moment to make sure all passengers are ready.
Everyone must be seated properly, doors closed, and the atmosphere calm.
If not everyone on board is ready, the wheels will not move.
This rule is not about strictness.
Itβs about respect for life and responsibility for everyone inside the vehicle.
Preparing the Driver
Driving is not just about skill β itβs about mindset.
No rushing, no pressure, no distractions. A clear head and full focus are essential before every trip, whether itβs a short drive or a long journey.
Why These Small Checks Matter
Most accidents donβt happen because of one big mistake.
They happen because small things were ignored.
Taking a few extra minutes before departure can prevent serious problems later. Thatβs why we believe preparation is just as important as the journey itself.
Our Promise
Anyone can drive a van.
What truly matters is how seriously you prepare before turning the key.
Because a safe journey doesnβt start on the road β
it starts before the engine does.
Kein Zeitdruck, keine Ablenkung, keine Hektik.

Wow! π€© What a powerful and important post! It is so refreshing to read about a Tour Operator who puts safety at the absolute center of everything.
π‘οΈβ¨π Preparation is Everything!
I completely agree that the journey begins before the engine starts! π In a country where the “Mai Pen Rai” (it’s okay/no worries) attitude can sometimes lead to relaxed safety standards, seeing this level of Swiss precision is fantastic. π¨ππ Checking the tires, the lights, and even the “mindset” of the driver is what separates a professional VIP service from just a “taxi driver”. When I book a tour, especially for family or long distances, knowing that these checks are done gives me such peace of mind. π Itβs not just about getting from A to B; itβs about getting there safely.
πΉπ Cultural Insight: The Guardian of the Journey
Your post reminds me of a beautiful local tradition. Did you know that in Thailand (and also Laos and Cambodia), there is a spiritual “pre-check” too? πΈ It is the belief in Mae Yanang (ΰΉΰΈ‘ΰΉΰΈ’ΰΉΰΈ²ΰΈΰΈ²ΰΈ), the Guardian Goddess of Boats and Vehicles. π₯οΈπ Many Thai drivers will hang flower garlands on the rear-view mirror or the steering wheel to pay respect to her. Before a long trip, they might even honk the horn three times to “ask for permission” to depart safely. π Itβs fascinating to see how MoriTour blends this cultural respect for the journey with modern Swiss safety standards. You have the mechanical check (tires/engine) AND the mental check (respect/calmness), which is the perfect balance!
β―οΈπ°π Parallels to Khmer Culture
This concept of “respecting the vehicle” is very strong in Cambodia as well! π°π In Khmer culture, drivers often sprinkle water or use specific blessings for their vehicles, similar to the Thai “Jerem” ceremony. It shows a shared heritage across the region where travel is seen as something that requires care and mindfulness. π Whether you are on a road in Sisaket or driving to Siem Reap, the road connects us all!
π‘ Did You Know?
Did you know that the Toyota Commuter (which you use!) is designed with specific “crumple zones” and safety features like ABS that only work if the vehicle is well-maintained? π οΈπ That is why your daily checks are so vital! A safety feature is useless if the brakes are worn out. Read more about the engineering of these vans here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_HiAce
