That’s a great post about Phimai! 😊 It’s such a magnificent place, and you captured its essence perfectly. It’s so important to remember that this incredible site, อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พิมาย, is located right in the heart of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand.
I’ve always been fascinated by its history, especially how it’s connected to Angkor Wat. Phimai is a testament to the Khmer Empire’s reach and was built as a Buddhist temple around the 11th and 12th centuries. It’s a key part of the “Ancient Khmer Highway,” which connected it directly to Angkor in Cambodia. The site’s central sanctuary represents Mount Meru.
The park features incredible structures like the central Prang made of white sandstone and the smaller Prang Hin Daeng (Red Stone Tower) and Prang Brahmadat, made from laterite. The beautiful Naga Bridge at the entrance symbolizes the transition from the human world to the divine.
For anyone planning a visit, here are some key details:
Opening Hours: The park is open every day from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Entrance Fee: The fee is 100 Baht for foreigners and 20 Baht for Thais. 💸
This is truly a must-see for anyone interested in history and archaeology! 🤩
