There is something magical about sunrise.

At Sukhothai Historical Park, the first rays of sunlight illuminate ancient Buddha statues, lotus ponds, and temple ruins that have stood for hundreds of years.

The quiet atmosphere of the early morning adds to the experience.

Before the crowds arrive, it feels as though time has paused.

Not every beautiful sunrise happens at a famous destination.

Some of my favorite mornings have been spent on quiet roads in rural Thailand.

A simple rice field.
