From Chanthaburi to Ayutthaya: Six Days of Discovery, History, and Hidden Beauty

This six-day adventure took us from the coastal charm of Chanthaburi to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya, combining history, nature, relaxation, and some of Thailand’s most remarkable landmarks.

Day 1 – Following the Legacy of King Taksin the Great

Our journey began in Chanthaburi, a province rich in history and natural beauty. One of our first highlights was a visit to the King Taksin the Great Shipyard, an important historical site connected to one of Thailand’s most respected kings.

Walking through the area, visitors can imagine the determination and vision of King Taksin during a crucial period in Thai history. The site offers fascinating insights into the events that helped shape the nation.

After a day filled with exploration, we checked into the comfortable Peak Hotel, where we enjoyed a relaxing evening and prepared for the adventures ahead.

Day 2 – Waterfalls, Golden Landscapes, and a Coffee Break with a View

The morning started with a visit to the beautiful Pliew Waterfall. Surrounded by lush tropical forest, the waterfall is one of Chanthaburi’s natural treasures. The crystal-clear water and peaceful atmosphere provide the perfect opportunity to connect with nature.

From there, we continued to the stunning Golden Meadow. This unique landscape offers beautiful scenery and showcases another side of Thailand that many travelers rarely get to see.

As we made our way toward Sattahip, we stopped at Airplane Coffee, one of Thailand’s most unique cafés. With a real aircraft incorporated into the café design, it quickly became a favorite photo stop and a fun break during the journey.

Arriving in Sattahip, we checked into Sea Paradise Hotel and slowed the pace a little. Sometimes the best travel moments come from simply enjoying your surroundings.

Day 3 – Relaxing by the Sea in Sattahip

Sattahip offers a quieter and more authentic coastal atmosphere compared to some of Thailand’s busier beach destinations.

This day was dedicated to relaxation. We spent time at the beach, enjoyed the sea breeze, watched local life unfold, and appreciated the peaceful atmosphere that makes Sattahip such a hidden gem.

Travel isn’t always about seeing more places—sometimes it’s about taking the time to truly experience one.

Day 4 – Discovering Pattaya

Our journey then continued to Pattaya, where modern attractions meet the beauty of Thailand’s eastern coastline.

For our stay, we chose Crystal Resort & Spa, offering comfort and a convenient location for exploring the city. The evening provided time to enjoy the local atmosphere, sample delicious Thai cuisine, and recharge before heading further inland.

Day 5 – Journey to the Ancient Kingdom of Ayutthaya

Leaving the coast behind, we traveled toward one of Thailand’s most significant historical destinations: Ayutthaya.

Once the capital of the Siamese Kingdom, Ayutthaya remains one of the country’s most fascinating UNESCO World Heritage sites. Every temple ruin and ancient structure tells a story of a glorious past.

Arriving in the city, we immediately felt the unique atmosphere that makes Ayutthaya so special.

Day 6 – Exploring Ayutthaya’s Sacred Temples

The final day of our journey was dedicated to some of Ayutthaya’s most iconic temples.

Our first stop was Wat Mahathat, famous worldwide for the Buddha head intertwined within the roots of a banyan tree. This remarkable image has become one of Thailand’s most recognizable cultural landmarks and symbolizes the connection between nature and history.

Next, we visited Wat Phanan Choeng Worawihan, one of Ayutthaya’s oldest and most important temples. Inside sits a magnificent giant Buddha image that inspires visitors with its scale, beauty, and spiritual significance.

Standing in these historic places offers a powerful reminder of Thailand’s rich cultural heritage and the generations who came before us.

This six-day journey perfectly captured what makes traveling in Thailand so rewarding. From royal history in Chanthaburi to waterfalls and hidden landscapes, from peaceful beaches in Sattahip to the ancient wonders of Ayutthaya, every day offered something different.

Von Chanthaburi nach Ayutthaya – Sechs Tage voller Geschichte, Natur und unvergesslicher Eindrücke

Diese sechstägige Tour führte uns von der charmanten Provinz Chanthaburi bis zur ehemaligen Königsstadt Ayutthaya. Eine Reise voller Geschichte, Natur, Entspannung und faszinierender Einblicke in Thailand.

Tag 1 – Auf den Spuren von König Taksin dem Großen

Unsere Reise begann in Chanthaburi, einer Provinz mit einer reichen Geschichte und beeindruckender Natur. Einer der ersten Höhepunkte war der Besuch der historischen Werft von König Taksin dem Großen.

Hier kann man sich gut vorstellen, wie König Taksin nach dem Fall Ayutthayas seine Streitkräfte organisierte und den Grundstein für die Wiedervereinigung des Königreichs legte. Der Ort vermittelt eindrucksvoll ein wichtiges Kapitel der thailändischen Geschichte.

Nach einem spannenden ersten Tag ließen wir den Abend entspannt im Peak Hotel ausklingen.

Tag 2 – Wasserfälle, goldene Landschaften und eine außergewöhnliche Kaffeepause

Am Morgen besuchten wir den wunderschönen Pliew-Wasserfall. Umgeben von tropischem Regenwald zählt er zu den schönsten Naturattraktionen Chanthaburis. Das klare Wasser und die friedliche Atmosphäre machen diesen Ort zu etwas ganz Besonderem.

Anschließend führte uns die Reise weiter zur Golden Meadow, einer beeindruckenden Landschaft, die viele Besucher überrascht und eine ganz andere Seite Thailands zeigt.

Auf dem Weg nach Sattahip legten wir einen Zwischenstopp im Airplane Coffee ein. Das Café ist für sein außergewöhnliches Design bekannt und bietet mit seinem integrierten Flugzeug ein beliebtes Fotomotiv.

Am Abend erreichten wir Sattahip und checkten im Sea Paradise Hotel ein.

Tag 3 – Entspannung am Meer in Sattahip

Sattahip ist bekannt für seine ruhige Küstenatmosphäre und seine wunderschönen Strände.

Dieser Tag stand ganz im Zeichen der Erholung. Wir verbrachten Zeit am Strand, genossen die Meeresbrise und ließen die Seele baumeln. Oft sind es genau diese ruhigen Momente, die eine Reise besonders machen.

Tag 4 – Pattaya erleben

Unsere Route führte uns anschließend nach Pattaya. Die Stadt verbindet moderne Infrastruktur mit der Schönheit der Ostküste Thailands.

Für die Nacht wählten wir das Crystal Resort & Spa. Der Abend bot Gelegenheit, die Stadt zu erkunden, lokale Spezialitäten zu genießen und neue Energie für den nächsten Reisetag zu sammeln.

Tag 5 – Aufbruch nach Ayutthaya

Am nächsten Morgen verließen wir die Küste und machten uns auf den Weg nach Ayutthaya, der ehemaligen Hauptstadt des Königreichs Siam.

Die historische Stadt gehört heute zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe und zählt zu den bedeutendsten Kulturstätten Thailands. Schon bei der Ankunft spürt man die besondere Atmosphäre dieses geschichtsträchtigen Ortes.

Tag 6 – Die berühmten Tempel von Ayutthaya

Der letzte Reisetag stand ganz im Zeichen der Kultur und Geschichte.

Unser erster Halt war Wat Mahathat, weltbekannt für den Buddha-Kopf, der von den Wurzeln eines Banyanbaums umschlossen wird. Dieses einzigartige Bild zählt zu den bekanntesten Wahrzeichen Thailands.

Anschließend besuchten wir Wat Phanan Choeng Worawihan, einen der ältesten und bedeutendsten Tempel Ayutthayas. Die gewaltige Buddha-Statue im Inneren beeindruckt Besucher aus aller Welt.

Zwischen alten Tempeln und historischen Ruinen wurde einmal mehr deutlich, wie reich die Geschichte und Kultur Thailands sind.

ทริป 6 วันครั้งนี้พาเราเดินทางจากจังหวัดจันทบุรีสู่จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา ผ่านสถานที่สำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ ธรรมชาติอันงดงาม ชายหาดที่เงียบสงบ และวัดโบราณอันทรงคุณค่า

วันที่ 1 – ตามรอยสมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช

การเดินทางเริ่มต้นที่จังหวัดจันทบุรี เมืองที่เต็มไปด้วยประวัติศาสตร์และเสน่ห์ทางธรรมชาติ

หนึ่งในสถานที่สำคัญที่เราได้เยี่ยมชมคือ อู่ต่อเรือสมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช สถานที่ที่สะท้อนถึงพระปรีชาสามารถและความมุ่งมั่นของพระองค์ในการกอบกู้เอกราชของชาติไทย

หลังจากใช้เวลาศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์และชมสถานที่สำคัญ เราเข้าพักที่ Peak Hotel เพื่อพักผ่อนและเตรียมตัวสำหรับวันถัดไป

วันที่ 2 – น้ำตกพลิ้ว ทุ่งหญ้าสีทอง และคาเฟ่เครื่องบิน

เช้าวันใหม่เริ่มต้นด้วยการเยี่ยมชมน้ำตกพลิ้ว หนึ่งในน้ำตกที่สวยงามที่สุดของจังหวัดจันทบุรี รายล้อมด้วยป่าเขียวขจีและบรรยากาศที่เงียบสงบ

จากนั้นเราเดินทางต่อไปยัง Golden Meadow หรือทุ่งหญ้าสีทอง ซึ่งมอบทัศนียภาพที่สวยงามและแตกต่างจากสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวทั่วไป

ระหว่างทางไปสัตหีบ เราแวะพักที่ Airplane Coffee คาเฟ่ชื่อดังที่มีเครื่องบินจริงเป็นจุดเด่น ทำให้เป็นสถานที่ถ่ายภาพยอดนิยมสำหรับนักเดินทาง

ช่วงเย็นเราเดินทางถึงสัตหีบและเข้าพักที่ Sea Paradise Hotel

วันที่ 3 – พักผ่อนริมทะเลสัตหีบ

สัตหีบมีเสน่ห์เฉพาะตัวด้วยชายหาดที่เงียบสงบและบรรยากาศที่ผ่อนคลาย

วันนี้เราใช้เวลาเดินเล่นริมทะเล รับลมทะเล และดื่มด่ำกับบรรยากาศสบาย ๆ บางครั้งความสุขของการเดินทางก็อยู่ที่การได้หยุดพักและใช้เวลากับสถานที่ตรงหน้าอย่างเต็มที่

วันที่ 4 – สัมผัสเสน่ห์เมืองพัทยา

จากสัตหีบ เราเดินทางต่อมายังพัทยา เมืองชายทะเลยอดนิยมที่เต็มไปด้วยสีสันและสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกครบครัน

เราพักที่ Crystal Resort & Spa ซึ่งมอบความสะดวกสบายและเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่ดีสำหรับการสำรวจเมืองในช่วงเย็น

วันที่ 5 – มุ่งหน้าสู่กรุงเก่าอยุธยา

เช้าวันถัดมา เราออกเดินทางจากชายฝั่งตะวันออกมุ่งหน้าสู่จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา อดีตราชธานีอันรุ่งเรืองของสยาม

อยุธยาได้รับการขึ้นทะเบียนเป็นมรดกโลกโดย UNESCO และยังคงเป็นหนึ่งในจุดหมายปลายทางทางประวัติศาสตร์ที่สำคัญที่สุดของประเทศไทย

วันที่ 6 – เยี่ยมชมวัดสำคัญแห่งอยุธยา

วันสุดท้ายของการเดินทาง เราได้เยี่ยมชมสถานที่สำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์หลายแห่ง

จุดแรกคือ วัดมหาธาตุ ซึ่งมีชื่อเสียงระดับโลกจากเศียรพระพุทธรูปที่โอบล้อมด้วยรากต้นโพธิ์ กลายเป็นสัญลักษณ์สำคัญของจังหวัดอยุธยา

จากนั้นเราเดินทางต่อไปยัง วัดพนัญเชิงวรวิหาร หนึ่งในวัดที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดของอยุธยา ภายในประดิษฐานพระพุทธไตรรัตนนายก หรือหลวงพ่อโต พระพุทธรูปขนาดใหญ่ที่สร้างความประทับใจให้กับผู้มาเยือนทุกคน
